Near The Cross

Near The Cross

Inside my local church in Bradford, faith reveals itself in small, everyday moments where people gather, pause and witness one another. These familiar rooms and side spaces shape how belief is carried in movement, gesture and presence. Near the Cross traces these quiet encounters to show how faith is lived in ordinary life.

Over ten years I photographed my local church, a place where four generations of my family have worshipped. Near the Cross grew out of long familiarity, quiet observation and a deep sense of belonging to this faith community.

Near the Cross was exhibited in Nationhood: Memory and Hope, curated by Anne McNeill. The project was commissioned by Bradford 2025 and Impressions Gallery for the UK City of Culture programme.
